The Denver Nuggets are set for a Game 2 battle on their home floor, hosting the LA Clippers.

The first game of the series was certainly an entertaining one, as the Nuggets secured a 112-110 victory in an overtime period to take a 1-0 series lead.

The duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray was formidable, as they ran their two-man action more than normal in an effort to exploit the Clippers' defense.

However, there was one hero in particular late in the game. In the wake of Michael Porter Jr.'s struggles, interim Denver head coach David Adelman opted to play veteran guard Russell Westbrook late in the game.

The former MVP winner isn't the player of his past, but he proved to make a positive impact late in the game, showing Adelman was right to give him the crunch time minutes.

First, he nailed a 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation to give the Nuggets the lead. In overtime, he read a Clippers' inbounds play, forcing a turnover and solidifying the win for Denver.

Westbrook shares simple message after receiving good news

However, Westbrook hasn't only been dealt good news on the hardwood. Before the game, the news came on the pitch.

Leeds United, an English football club, was promoted from the Championship League to the Premier League -- the top in the English Football League system -- on Monday.

Westbrook happens to be a minority owner in the club, meaning it's good news for his business venture.

The legendary guard took to his Instagram to share a simple message, expressing his joy.

"Letss goooooooo," Westbrook shared on his Instagram.

While Westbrook navigates the playoffs with his squad, he celebrates a club he has minority ownership of making it to the top league of their system, as they'll be in the highest level of competition in England.
