Wrexham took on Nottingham Forest this Friday, Jan. 9, at STōK Cae Ras, for the Third Round of the FA Cup. Surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds's team took the victory on penalties.

The leagues in England had entered a pause period to accommodate the FA Cup, which had reached the third round. Wrexham was coming off four consecutive wins in the Championship.

For its part, Nottingham Forest came in from the Premier League, sitting 17th in the table, and had recently ended a four-game losing run with a 2-1 win at West Ham.

Phil Parkinson’s side headed into this match in high spirits, having beaten Derby County 2-1 away on Jan. 4 and Preston North End 2-1 on Dec. 30. On the other hand, Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest had defeated West Ham United 2-1 on Jan. 6.

The match was crazy, and ended with a score of 3-3, but everything was decided on penalties, where Wrexham won 4-3.

Ryan Reynolds' Emotional Reaction During Wrexham vs Nottingham Forest Goes Viral

Ryan Reynolds, as expected, was present at the stadium and followed the match minute by minute. Unfortunately for him, he missed Wrexham's third goal against Nottingham Forest, and cameras captured his reaction.

"He is better than the Manchester United owners who don't care about the club," wrote a fan in the Instagram post. "Maybe if he wasn't so obsessed with his outfit changes, he wouldn't have missed it," another user noted ironically.

Wrexham quickly took the lead in the match, as before the end of the first half, Liberato Cacace and Oliver Rathbone made the score 2-0, in the 37th and 40th minutes, respectively.

In the 64th minute, Forest reacted with a goal from Igor Jesus, but in the 74th minute, Dominic Hyam made it 3-1. Although it seemed all decided, the visitors reacted.

It was with a brace from Callum Hudson-Odoi (in the 76th and 89th minutes) that Nottingham Forest tied the score and revived its fans' hopes. However, on penalties, the balance tilted in favor of Ryan Reynolds's team. Wrexham advanced to the next round.
