Arsenal have gone all-in during the ongoing transfer window, with the team finally ending their long search for a top number nine. The Gunners completed a massive $85.5 million deal with Sporting CP, which will see striker Viktor Gyokeres ply his trade in the Premier League.

Gyokeres set Europe on fire with his performance last season, with the striker finding the back of the net on 54 occasions. With Arsenal constantly relying on the likes of Kai Havertz and Jesus Navas for the past few seasons, the addition of Gyokeres is bound to have a big impact on the team.

Saliba lauds Gyokeres following Arsenal move

Arsenal star William Saliba was full of praise for his new teammate following his move from Sporting. With the Frenchman well aware of how lethal Gyokeres can be in front of the goal, the defender expressed his happiness over the move, claiming it was nice to have the striker on his side rather than as an opponent.

Saliba stated, “We know how good he is; it’s scary to play against him. Of course, I’m so happy to have him in my club, and I’m sure that he will help us to win games and win trophies.”

When asked why facing Gyokeres was scary, the defender added, “Why scary? Because when you face a striker who scores goals, you have to be focused! But now he’s in our team and he will score for us, so that’s good.”

Gyokeres will be in action against arch-rivals Tottenham in Hong Kong, with the two London sides set to face each other in a pre-season friendly. It will be interesting to see how the striker fares for his new club, with Arsenal fans expecting to see from fireworks from their new man.
