The Athletic reports that Jadon Sancho, who held lengthy talks with Roma in August, is on the verge of joining Aston Villa.
English winger Sancho is close to joining Aston Villa, as The Athletic reports that the Birmingham-based club is on the verge of reaching an agreement with Manchester United.
It’s a season-long loan deal between all the parties involved.
Sancho’s contract with Manchester United expires in June, but the Red Devils retain an option to extend it to 2027.
Sancho had been in talks with Roma for several weeks, but the Giallorossi failed to reach an agreement with the ex-Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund winger.
The Giallorossi had shaken hands with the Red Devils, but Sancho stalled on a move, and Frederic Massara ultimately confirmed on Saturday that the Giallorossi would not continue negotiations due to the player’s lack of motivation to move to the Stadio Olimpico.
The Giallorossi remain on the lookout for an attacking winger and have been linked with Bologna’s Benjamín Domínguez and Tyrique George.
