Gianluca Scamacca is dealing with an inflammatory condition in his left knee, and although he has already been undergoing treatment, it’s still unclear when he’ll return to action.

Scamacca was forced to withdraw from the Italy national team squad on Thursday, having been unable to train with the Azzurri during the international break.

Scamacca injury revealed after medical tests

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Atalanta forward has undergone medical tests that highlighted an inflammatory condition in the left knee, caused by joint overload.

Scammaca is already undergoing the necessary treatment, the report claims.

The condition of the former West Ham forward will be monitored daily, but there’s still no certainty regarding the date of his return to action.

Scamacca likely to miss next Atalanta game

According to SOS Fanta , Scamacca remains in serious doubt for the next Serie A game between Atalanta and Lecce.

Italy will face Estonia in the World Cup qualifiers tonight and then meet Israel on September 8.

Scamacca has scored one goal in two appearances for La Dea this season, and his contract with the Nerazzurri runs out in June 2027.
