Sean Dyche wants to manage Manchester United

Sean Dyche is still looking for his next club five months on from leaving Nottingham Forest, as the world of European football is preparing for a new season.

Dyche only lasted four months with Forest, from October 2025 to February 2026 before leaving the club, failing to take on another role after his departure.

The 55-year-old has routinely been considered about the jobs he’s taken on though, having been without a club for nine months between Everton and Nottingham Forest, and eight months between Burnley and Everton.

However, one job he seemingly wouldn’t need to take time to consider is if he was offered the job at Old Trafford.

The news comes from the man himself as he opened up about the one club he’d love to manager on talkSPORT.

Speaking about who his dream team to manage would be, Sean Dyche named Manchester United as his top choice.

Explaining why, the former Nottingham Forest and Everton manager said: “The growth under Sir Alex [Ferguson] and where it got to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a massively difficult job, but just to have a chance.”

He continued: “The size of that and the worldwide power of it, so that’s it, and I’ve always enjoyed going there and I’ve always enjoyed the results I’ve had, relevant to the teams I’ve managed, it’s not easy there but I’ve had some really big results.”

With Michael Carrick now established as United’s permanent manager, Dyche will have to wait a while until the job comes up for grabs again, with the former Manchester United midfielder having helped The Red Devils reclaim Champions League football for next season.
