Ange Postecoglou is still kept in the dark regarding his future at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou is still facing an uncertain future at N17 after securing Tottenham’s first major trophy in 17 years this season. The Australian has come under immense pressure due to the poor domestic campaign. But the 59-year-old managed to end the season on a high and gave the fans a lasting memory of winning the Europa League trophy last week.

A lot has been said about Big Ange’s future and it is believed that the ex-Celtic boss will be relieved from his duties heading into the summer. It was reported earlier that Daniel Levy was still leaning towards sacking Ange Postecoglou, despite the Europa League success. However, Levy has still not acted on that decision and fans believe that the Spurs chairman is having second thoughts about his decision.

Well, Ange Postecoglou is also adamant to continue his project at N17 and has given subtle hints of staying in the summer. The 59-year-old is aiming to build on the Europa League success next season after he achieved Champions League football. The Europa League trophy parade on Friday also showcased that the players and the fans back the Australian to turn the fortunes of the club around for good.

Carlton Cole wants Ange Postecoglou to leave Tottenham on a high

It is certain that Ange Postecoglou will be under a lot of pressure to get positive results next season after securing silverware this year. Every Tottenham loss will be put under a microscope and Big Ange will get criticised heavily if things start to go downhill. The Spurs manager has not helped himself as well after openly announcing that his third season at N17 will be better than the previous two.

Now, Carlton Cole has urged Ange Postecoglou to leave the club when the timing is right. Speaking on The Dressing Room podcast, Cole said,

“Look, if I was Ange, as I said, in the last episodes, in the episodes before, win this, drop the mic, see you later. Like, don’t make the mistake of hanging around. Just hanging around, waiting for the abuse and then getting run out.”

The ex-West Ham player added,

“I know there’s money involved as well, so it’s never easy losing a pound note, but for your pride and actually your future, because now you can say, do you know what? When all is said and done, I have secured the club silverware. I’ve done enough here.”

Carlton Cole suggested that Ange Postecoglou should leave Tottenham in the summer and not make the mistake of hanging around. The ex-player added that if things go south next season, then Big Ange would receive a lot of abuse and criticism. Cole acknowledged the money involved for Ange Postecoglou if he remains at N17, but the ex-West Ham player urged the Spurs manager to leave on a high after securing silverware.

Daniel levy has already spoken to a few managers as Tottenham look to replace Ange Postecoglou in the summer. Former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli and Fulham manager Marco Silva are the favourites to land the job at N17 if Levy decides to sack Big Ange in the coming days. Fans will hope that the right decision is taken regarding the managerial situation as the club needs to shift their focus on summer signings.
