Senegal will play a friendly match against Peru at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France. It is the first match for Senegal after playing in the 2025 AFCON.

Senegal was believed to have won the 2025 AFCON after beating Morocco 1-0 after extra time. Nearly two weeks ago, CAF decided to award Morocco the 2025 AFCON after stating that Senegal withdrew from the match after the team walked off the pitch, which delayed the match.

This month, CAF recognizes Morocco as the 2025 AFCON winners, and the result is stated to be a 3-0 win for Morocco. Senegal has appealed the decision to CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Senegal will play their third friendly match following their qualification to the World Cup. Senegal topped Group B of the CAF World Cup qualifiers with 24 points after 10 qualifying matches played.

Their previous friendly match was an 8-0 won over Kenya last November. Senegal also played against Brazil last November, where they lost 2-0.

Peru did not qualify for the World Cup after finishing 9th in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier table. Peru finished on 12 points after 18 matches played. In their previous friendly match, Peru defeated Bolivia 2-0 last December.
