Senne Lammens officially loses manager

Senne Lammens has officially lost another manager less than a year after seeing the coach who brought him to Manchester United leave Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim handed the Belgian goalkeeper his opportunity at United before being dismissed in January after a difficult 14-month spell.

Michael Carrick initially stepped in as interim head coach and enjoyed an outstanding spell.

He guided the Red Devils back into the Champions League and earned the role permanently.

The 24-year-old established himself as Manchester United’s undisputed number one and enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign.

His performances helped United finish third in the Premier League, while he was also voted the Premier League Transfer of the Season after an exceptional first year in England.

Now, another manager has officially departed from Lammens’ career.

Another chapter comes to an end

The Royal Belgian Football Association has officially confirmed that Rudi Garcia will leave his role as Belgium head coach when his contract expires at the end of July.

The federation announced that both parties had mutually agreed not to extend their collaboration after 18 months together.

Garcia guided Belgium back into League A of the UEFA Nations League.

He also led the side to the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Belgium’s tournament ended with a defeat to eventual world champions Spain.

Senne Lammens was part of Garcia’s squad throughout the competition.

Although Thibaut Courtois started as first-choice goalkeeper, the Manchester Untied shot-stopper was handed his World Cup debut after Courtois suffered an injury during the quarter-final.

Lammens was unfortunate to see his introduction overshadowed by the decisive moment of the match as Spain progressed to the semi-finals before eventually lifting the trophy.

Despite that difficult evening, the World Cup represented another important milestone in his career after breaking into Belgium’s senior setup.

The goalkeeper will now return his full focus to United ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Belgium will prepare to appoint a new head coach for the next international cycle.

It means Lammens will soon be working under another manager at international level as he looks to build on what has already been a breakthrough year for club and country.
