Sergio Pereira Andrade, aka Serginho of Danish side Viborg FC is a player whose name has cropped up on many Celtic sites on social media, but nothing concrete so far, more is the pity…

The 24 year old Portuguese born Cape Verde international, who is comfortable on either foot, is an exciting talent as is shown on the many clips available of the versatile wide man online, but as always a word of caution has to be heeded when judging players on video footage alone.

Serginho does however have the stats to back up his ability, indeed he has recorded 34 goal contributions in 60 appearances with Viborg in his two years in the Danish top flight, eight of those being goals whilst providing 26 assists.

That’s an incredible record that the former Benfica under 23 player boasts at a level on a par with our own domestic league.

He’s clearly a player who creates as lot of opportunities, and that’s what we badly need after the loss of Nicolas Kuhn, who Celtic last week allowed to leave after collecting a cheque for £17m from Italian side Como.

Serginho loves to take a player on, he’s a genuine ‘bums off seats’ player and he can open up the tightest of defences.

What’s more he would be available for around £4 million due to being in the last year of his current contract. He’s a potential signing that Celtic should be all over and hopefully they are.
