Fiorentina resisted the Bologna fightback to secure a 3-2 victory and leapfrog the Rossoblu in the table with Fabiano Parisi, Amir Richardson and Moise Kean goals.

The Viola saw their campaign falling apart after the Conference League semi-final defeat to Real Betis and back-to-back Serie A losses to Roma and Venezia. Lucas Beltran, Nicolò Zaniolo and Michael Folorunsho were all suspended, with Danilo Cataldi, Moise Kean and Albert Gudmundsson not fully fit. Bologna, on the other hand, were celebrating Wednesday’s Coppa Italia triumph and coach Vincenzo Italiano returned to the Stadio Franchi without injured Martin Erlic, Jens Odgaard and Estanis Pedrola.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Bologna had a bright start despite their midweek exertions, Santiago Castro’s shot charged down by Pietro Comuzzo and the striker’s first touch then letting him down on the Dan Ndoye counter-attack.

Fabiano Parisi gathered in midfield and shrugged off a challenge, surging through the centre and receiving a bit of luck when his finish took a big deflection to wrong-foot Lukasz Skorupski.

David De Gea palmed the Ndoye effort, but Fiorentina lost Comuzzo to injury before half-time.

Giovanni Fabbian drilled just wide and Nicolò Fagioli had penalty appeals rejected for a coming together with Jhon Lucumi.

Bologna drew level with their substitutes, as Riccardo Orsolini whipped in a cross for the glancing Thijjs Dallinga header to wrong-foot De Gea.

It did not last long, as Parisi burst down the left and forced a save at the near post, with Skorupski only parrying it into the path of Amir Richardson to score from 10 yards.

Bologna replied again, as Ndoye dribbled down the left and pulled back from the by-line to find Orsolini unmarked for the easiest of tap-ins.

It remained wide open, Fiorentina taking the lead for the third time when Rolando Mandragora nodded on a long ball for Moise Kean to shrug off two defenders, test Skorupski and turn in the rebound at the second time of asking.

Juan Miranda saw red for Bologna late on, as he lashed out an elbow into the face of Mandragora.
