Joshua Zirkzee is one of many names who may leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.
Zirkzee, who joined the Red Devils in 2023, has made 59 appearances since joining the club and has scored eight times in these games.
Meanwhile, prior to his time at the club, he had scored 14 times in 58 appearances during his spell at Bologna.
However, with Zirkzee limited to just ten appearances this season, he has been linked with moves away from Manchester United.
One side that he has been linked with is AS Roma.
The side, who currently sit fourth in Serie A, have previously outlined their plan to sign Joshua Zirkzee with this including a conditional purchase clause.
Meanwhile, recently, Roma have identified alternatives should their move for Zirkzee not succeed in the January window.
Now, the side have made their next move as they aim to land the signing in the window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, AS Roma are advancing in talks with Joshua Zirkzee on personal terms as top target for January.
Meanwhile, Romano had also confirmed that the deal still depends on United’s decision and that Roma want Zirkzee as soon as possible.
However, currently, Manchester United have several players out for injury/AFCON therefore arguably creating a blockade to the move currently.
With this update now received, attention could turn to Roma to see how the talks go and whether the move advances or depletes.
Meanwhile, fans may also look to Ruben Amorim and the United hierarchy to see how the club decides to act following injuries to players and others playing for their nations in the African Cup of Nations currently.
But, for now, Zirkzee’s party and Roma’s party will come together for their talks.
