Sandro Tonali has quickly emerged as one of Manchester United’s key targets for the summer transfer window.
It’s been known for some time that United would be looking to recruit at least one midfielder this summer, with a rebuild on the horizon.
Casemiro is set to leave at the end of his contract and Manuel Ugarte could be on the way out after failing to establish himself since moving from PSG.
As such, The Red Devils are looking for fresh blood, with Tonali joining the likes of Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton on United’s shortlist.
However, they aren’t alone in their interest as GiveMeSport have now reported that Juventus are looking to the Newcastle United midfielder.
It’s understood that this interest is music to Tonali’s ears, as the former AC Milan star is keen to return to Serie A.
Having moved to Newcastle in 2023 for £50 million, the 25-year-old has made 94 appearances for The Magpies, grabbing seven goals and eight assists, helping them to win the Carabao Cup last season.
However, Juventus’ pursuit would see him return home to Italy, a move understood to be wanted for personal reasons.
This doesn’t only put United on the back foot, but also Manchester City and Arsenal who are also looking to the midfielder.
However, The Old Lady would need to cough up a hefty fee for Tonali, with Newcastle valuing him at between £80 million and £100 million.
With his contract running until 2028, with a further 12-months extension as an option, Newcastle hold a strong position for negotiations, being able to put such a high price tag on the 25-year-old.
As such, it’s unknown if Juventus, or any of his suitors are willing to match such a high asking price, however with the summer transfer window still months away, there’s still time for anything to happen.
