Giant-killing Bologna aim to hold on to fourth place with Joshua Zirkzee after knocking Inter out of the Coppa Italia, while Atalanta are pushing to enter the top spots with Charles De Ketelaere.
It kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 14.00 GMT.
Thiago Motta’s team are on a roll at the moment, as after beating Roma 2-0 to take fourth place in Serie A, they came back from a goal down to eliminate holders Inter in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 in extra time at San Siro.
Zirkzee was initially only on the bench, but made a huge impact when coming on, providing inspired assists for Dan Ndoye and Sam Beukema.
The Dutch striker starts here today with Ndoye and Alexis Saelemaekers, as Riccardo Orsolini is still not 100 per cent fit, with Jesper Karlsson and Adama Soumaoro injured.
Atalanta are aiming for those European positions too after a last-gasp victory over Milan and 4-1 win over Salernitana.
Rafael Toloi, Jose Luis Palomino and El Bilal Toure are still on the treatment table, but Gianluca Scamacca returns to the bench following a muscular injury.
Luis Muriel is on sparkling form at the moment, but is only used as a supersub, with Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere upfront.
This is a special fixture for Thiago Motta, who was coached by Gasperini at Genoa.
