Tottenham are aiming to bring in more attacking reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window

Tottenham have enjoyed a brilliant start to the new season under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites are flying high in the Premier League, sitting just two points behind leaders Arsenal in third place. They’ve also made a promising start to their Champions League campaign, collecting four points from their opening two matches. However, despite their impressive form, there remain a few key issues that need to be addressed in January — chief among them, the need for a clinical No.9.

Spurs currently lack a consistent goal threat in attack under Frank. Richarlison has struggled to find the net regularly, while Dominic Solanke continues to recover from an ankle injury, leaving Tottenham without a proven striker for the second half of the campaign.

According to recent reports, the North London club have set their sights on Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović as a potential solution. The Serbian has slipped down the pecking order under Igor Tudor this season, and the arrival of Jonathan David at the Allianz Stadium has only made matters worse for the 25-year-old. However, a deal could hinge on the striker’s wage demands and his willingness to take a pay cut to force through a move.

Dusan Vlahovic favours Tottenham move above everything else

Tottenham, though, are not alone in their pursuit. Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all monitoring Vlahović’s situation, meaning Spurs will need to make a strong case to lure the Serbian international to N17 if they want to strengthen their frontline for the latter half of the season.

Now, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has provided a huge update on Vlahovic’s transfer stance. Speaking to Football Insider, Wyness said,

“Spurs are the team that I’m hearing he’s leaning towards, and I think that could be something that makes sense. If you look at what Spurs have got right now, there’s still that sort of striker position where they are lacking real experience.”

The ex-PL CEO added,

“I think he might be the right sort of fit for them. There’s a long time to go yet, but I think in terms of January, it could possibly get done. Vlahovic is edging towards Spurs, and that’s where I’m thinking he may just fit.”

Keith Wyness believes Dusan Vlahovic views Tottenham as an ideal destination to revive his career under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites are in desperate need of a forward capable of delivering goals consistently, and Vlahovic fits that profile perfectly. Wyness also suggests that a January move to North London is a realistic possibility.

Considering that Vlahović’s Juventus contract expires next summer, some Spurs fans may prefer the club to wait and sign him on a free transfer. However, that approach could prove risky, as several top clubs might also enter the race for his signature. Furthermore, reports claim that Juventus are open to selling the striker at a discounted price if Tottenham make their move in the winter window.

All eyes will now be on the North London club as they continue to monitor Vlahović’s progress in Turin. The Serbian striker has been in red-hot form this season, netting six goals in just eleven appearances across all competitions. If he maintains this scoring run heading into January, signing him would be an absolute no-brainer for Tottenham.
