Sevilla players were delighted after their 2-2 draw at Europa League opponents Manchester United.

The quarterfinal tie is now in the balance with the return-leg staged in Spain.

Erik Lamela said, "We stayed in the game to the end and this team will fight. We will always fight. We always had the belief. It's an important thing that we showed personality to play until the end at a very difficult stadium against a very good opponent. We're going to play at home with our amazing fans [and] have a great opportunity to show everybody we are alive."

Marco, the Sevilla defender, on his playing comeback also said: "I'm very happy to be able to play and to help Sevilla. I'd planned with the coaching staff to play 45 minutes or an hour, but once I was out on the pitch I wanted to give everything. We couldn't give up, we had to fight and stay strong and we managed to get it to 2-2.

"If we look at their two goals they were between me and Tanguy [Nianzou]. We had to close [the space] there. We had to be more attentive."

Striker Youssef En-Nesyri also said: "We've done our job. They scored two goals on counterattacks where we lacked a bit of concentration but the second half was good and we've levelled the game. This is football you have to be focused for 90 minutes and fully switched on for those last five minutes to not concede."
