Sevilla and Aston Villa will face off in the XV Trofeo Antonio Puerta on Friday, October 2, at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville.
The match kicks off at 8:30 p.m. CEST, and the annual friendly will also be a chance for Unai Emery to return to the club where he won three consecutive Europa League titles.
Sevilla have already announced their 23-man squad, but five of them are unavailable due to international call-ups: Robbie Ure, Arouna Sangante, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Giorgi Kochorashvili and Gabriel Suazo. Kike Salas and Rubén Vargas are also having fitness problems.
Sevilla are therefore expected to be very reliant on younger players and squad members who have stayed in Spain.
Sevilla predicted lineup: Rafa Romero; Juan Iglesias, Marcao, Castrín, Julio Díaz; Agoumé, Manu Bueno; Peque, Alfon, Ejuke; Isaac.
Aston Villa also come without a number of internationals such as Matty Cash, Victor Lindelöf, Andrés Ruggeri, John McGinn, Johan Manzambi, George Hemmings and Nicolas Jackson. Villa’s team for the friendly is therefore likely to include some fringe and academy players.
Aston Villa predicted lineup: Marco Bizot; Kosta Nedeljkovic, Tyrone Mings, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Lamare Bogarde; Boubacar Kamara, Ross Barkley; Emiliano Buendía, Ross McCausland, Alejandro Garnacho; Tammy Abraham.
The friendly is set for Friday, October 2 at 8:30 p.m. CEST in Spain.
Sevilla have announced that the game will be broadcast live on Sevilla FC+ in Spain, and also on Canal Sur TV and Canal Sur Más.
Aston Villa have also confirmed that they will be broadcasting on VillaTV. Depending on the viewer’s location, a subscription might be necessary.
If you are in the UK, there is no traditional TV channel listed, and VillaTV is the main confirmed streaming service. International viewers should also refer to local listings, as rights for this club friendly differ from territory to territory.
