Manchester United’s unbeaten run of late has created a noticeably relaxed mood around Carrington, with several senior players enjoying a rare stretch of rhythm and stability under Ruben Amorim.
Training sessions have remained competitive but light-hearted.
The international break has also offered staff a chance to focus on individual development plans, particularly among younger players pushing for minutes.
Meanwhile, club analysts have been monitoring several off-pitch trends affecting high-profile Premier League footballers, from insurance changes to new driving-law crackdowns across the UK.
This has become a surprisingly common topic in the dressing room as more players highlight how stricter limits and new camera zones are catching out drivers at every club.
It’s against this backdrop that a separate incident outside Old Trafford has gained attention after Cruz Beckham reportedly had his licence revoked following his second speeding offence less than two years after passing his test, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old son of Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria is said to have committed the latest offence on 2 September.
After being issued with the ticket, he wrote on Instagram that he had “just got done for doing 24 in a 20”. Games gone. Myself I feel very safe,” he added, referencing the 2025 Wes Anderson film The Phoenician Scheme.
Under DVLA rules, a driver can have their licence revoked if they accumulate six or more penalty points within two years of passing their test.
A source close to him told the Daily Mail on Sunday: “Cruz is gutted about it. It was a couple of speeding tickets which are so easy to come by these days with 20mph zones.
“It’s infuriating but he seems to have accepted it and taken it on the chin.”
Recent figures show nearly 500,000 speeding tickets were issued on 20mph roads in 2024, marking a rise of two-thirds compared with the previous year.
As a result, Cruz Beckham will need to reapply for a provisional licence and retake both his theory and practical tests before he is permitted to drive again.
Sir David, 50, and Lady Victoria, 51, celebrated publicly when their son passed his test in September 2023, marking the milestone with posts on Instagram.
Cruz, who is pursuing a music career and has a noted passion for cars, has been spotted driving a £150,000 black Porsche 911, a Land Rover and a classic 1980s Mercedes.
Sir David’s recent knighthood has only heightened public attention on the family, making Cruz’s setback all the more high-profile.
For United’s younger players, the situation has served as a reminder that even minor off-pitch slip-ups can lead to major setbacks, something staff are emphasising as part of their development programme at Carrington.
