Reports from Sky Sport Italia indicate that Atalanta have submitted a formal offer of €40m including bonuses in an attempt to sign centre-forward Rodrigo Muniz from Premier League side Fulham.
La Dea are on the hunt for a new centre-forward to replace Italy international Mateo Retegui, who left the club after one season to sign for Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah for a reported fee of €65m.
Atalanta’s hunt has led them to the Premier League, where they have landed on Fulham’s Muniz, despite reports of interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia late on Tuesday evening, Atalanta have submitted an offer of €35m plus up to €5m in bonuses in an attempt to lure the Brazilian away from Craven Cottage.
Sky claims that Muniz is keen to join Atalanta this summer, given the attraction of Champions League football in Bergamo.
There have also been suggestions that Fulham are looking at unwanted Inter centre-forward Mehdi Taremi as a potential replacement if the deal for Muniz goes through.
