Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a bold move for Aston Villa’s rising star Morgan Rogers in the upcoming January transfer window.

Club sources have informed TheBoyHotspur that Spurs, under a revamped leadership structure, are adopting a more aggressive transfer strategy and have identified the 23-year-old England international as a key midfield target.

Morgan Rogers would be a superb addition

Rogers’ versatility, capable of operating both centrally and out wide, makes him a natural fit for Thomas Frank’s tactical setup. His profile aligns with the club’s need for dynamic, multi-functional players following long-term injuries to James Maddison and the departure of Son Heung-min to MLS.

Villa have placed a £100 million valuation on Rogers, a figure that would have been out of reach for Spurs in previous windows. However, with Daniel Levy’s exit and increased financial flexibility, Tottenham are now considering a £60 million opening bid to test Villa’s stance. While the Birmingham club are unlikely to accept such an offer, Spurs are keen to gauge the player’s availability and interest.

Rogers could be open to a move

Rogers has yet to make a definitive decision about his future, but sources suggest he is not ruling out a move to North London. Chelsea remain interested and are monitoring the situation closely, though Tottenham appear to be taking more concrete steps at this stage.

Despite financial pressure stemming from PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules), Villa manager Unai Emery is determined to keep Rogers in his plans. The player’s recent contract extension until 2030 further complicates any potential deal, making this one of the more intriguing sagas to watch as the window approaches.

Spurs need more depth in the attacking unit if they want to win major trophies, and Rogers could be ideal for them. He scored 14 last season and picked up 16 assists.
