Southampton are open to cash in on Tyler Dibling in the summer amid Tottenham transfer links

Changes are needed at Tottenham if the club wants to close the gap on its rivals next season. The Lilywhites struggled to keep up with other teams in the Premier League last season. And some might say that the injury crisis that the North London club endured was the reason behind the disastrous domestic campaign. However, the club cannot afford a repeat of that as we head into a new era at N17.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank is already aiming to make his mark at N17 next season. The Danish tactician wants his team to compete hard on all four fronts next season, as the Lilywhites look to build on the Europa League success. To achieve that, the ex-Brentford boss would need to be backed in the summer transfer market before the new season kicks off.

The North London club have sealed the deal to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, with fans hoping that this is the start of a massive squad overhaul in the summer. However, Spurs need to bring in more players to have enough depth in all areas of the pitch if they want to compete hard in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Tottenham receive an update on Southampton star Tyler Dibling

Tottenham star Brennan Johnson played a crucial role in helping the Lilywhites reach the promised land last season. The Welshman was the club’s top-scorer in all competitions, and was quite comfortably the most reliable attacker on the pitch. But as we head onto next season, the North London club must bring in a player that would always keep the 24-year-old on his toes, and compete with him for a spot in the starting eleven.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Tyler Dibling from Southampton. The teenage sensation left his mark in the Premier League last season by performing well beyond his years, and the Lilywhites took notice of that. The North London club tried to sign Dibling in January as well, with Southampton turning down a £35m bid from Daniel Levy.

The interest has not faded away in the summer, and Tottenham have received an update on the 19-year-old’s asking price. As per Florian Plettenberg (via X), the Saints have set an asking price of €55-65m for Tyler Dibling. Not only that, but Spurs face competition from other clubs for his signature as well. Man United, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham are all interested in landing the teenage sensation in the summer.

It remains to be seen how Daniel Levy approaches this deal in the coming weeks. Signing Tyler Dibling would be a good move for a lot of reasons. Firstly, the winger has immense talent and potential, which is something that the Lilywhites can always work on. Secondly, Dibling’s best years are ahead of him and he would provide a different dynamic in the attack as compared to Brennan Johnson.

However, there are some cons of signing the Southampton star as well. The asking price is too high for a player that is far from being developed, and the price tag may affect his performances at N17. Also, Spurs are already signing West Ham star Mohammed Kudus in the summer, so there is a possibility that Dibling will not get enough game time at Tottenham next season.
