Chelsea fans will be familiar with the latest report on one loan players performance from the weekend as he struggled.
For me personally, I’ve never overly rated Nicolas Jackson as a number 9. I think he could be better as a wide striker or a winger. As a 9, I don’t think he’s ever going to be good enough to make it or do it at a tope club. I was surprised that Bayern Munich wanted him in the summer to be honest but I’m pretty sure they wont be signing him permanently unless Chelsea do a very cheap deal for him. He’s just not good enough overall for me.
Jackson has started in just three matches in all competitions since arriving from Chelsea FC on loan late in last summer’s transfer window. I mean, he was always going to play second fiddle to Harry Kane, right? Kane is world class and one of the best if not the best 9 in the world right now.
Bavarian Football Works, a Bayern Munich fan site, wrote this in the wake of the match at the weekend:
‘Nicolas Jackson started in Bayern Munich’s attack for Saturday’s 2-1 Der Klassiker victory over Borussia Dortmund but struggled to make an impact while the likes of Harry Kane and Michael Olise stole the show. But don’t get discouraged yet.’
“He was active, kept running into the spaces and tried hard. But he was unlucky in a few actions,” Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl noted in post-match comments captured by Tz, via @iMiaSanMia.
I’m sure Jackson will be back at Chelsea in the summer albeit temporarily as they will be looking for another team for him to go and play for, hopefully on a permanent. It’s clear he doesn’t want to come back to Chelsea now and Chelsea should want to move him on in my view.
