Stuttgart set Angelo Stiller asking price

Manchester United are preparing themselves for a hefty overhaul this summer as they plan to rebuild their midfield.

The Red Devils are set to lose Casemiro at the end of his contract and are looking to offload Manuel Ugarte after a dismal two years at Old Trafford.

As such, a shortlist of potential replacements has been drafted with Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali heading up the list.

However, another midfielder who they were heavily linked to, Angelo Stiller, has now been given an affordable valuation by Stuttgart.

Angelo Stiller emerged as one of United’s potential targets in summer 2025 as plans for a new midfield first took shape.

While Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton were understood to be United’s main priorities, Stiller was an outside option after shining in the Bundesliga.

Now, Sports Bild, as reported by Tribuna, has revealed that Stuttgart are looking for around £43.5 million fopr their star midfielder.

The 25-year-old does have a release clause, valued somewhere between £31.8 million and £34.8 million, however Stuttgart can cancel the clause for £1.7 million, forcing the higher fee.

As a technical, deep-lying playmaker, Angelo Stiller would be a strong contender to replace Casemiro this summer, being significantly more affordable than some of Manchester United’s other targets.

Elliot Anderson was valued at around £100 million despite Manchester City now being confident they can sign him for £65 million.

Both Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton are understood to be valued at over £80 million, so would cost United much more than Stiller, potentially double.

However, the key difference between Stiller and the trio is Premier League experience. Angelo Stiller is yet to play outside Germany, where as the others are proven Premier League stars.

As such, a move for Stiller would be more of a risk, so if it does happen, is more likely to be the secondary signing alongside a proven player like Sandro Tonali.
