Manchester United are once again aiming for success in this summer’s transfer window as the club strives to give themselves the best platform for next season.
The Red Devils have already been linked with a number of targets that could help them, pushed by the inevitable departure of Casemiro at the end of this campaign.
Adam Wharton has emerged as a key target with him expected to leave Crystal Palace this summer whilst Carlos Baleba’s transfer fee was lowered, opening the door for a potential move.
Sandro Tonali has also been included on a list of targets with CentreDevils exclusively revealing the details relating to conversations between Tonali’s representatives and Manchester United.
Midfield is not the only area where players have been linked, however, with defensive positions also attracting attention.
Nathaniel Brown has been linked with a move to the club with United scouting the defender earlier this week.
Now, Joseph Cowan, who had been watched by Manchester United’s goalkeeping scout at the game between Manchester United’s Under-18s and Sunderland’s Under-18s, is in line for a promotion according to Alan Nixon.
Nixon, reporting on his Patreon page, revealed that the Black Cats are hoping they can find a way to give Cowan the experience of the Premier League, with the potential for him to be playing towards the end of this season in the first-team.
Cowan has come through the age-groups in Sunderland’s academy to emerge as one of the club’s most promising young talents.
He has made eight appearances for the Under-21s this season whilst also making 16 appearances for the Under-18s at just 17 years old.
With a promotion now set, attention from Manchester United could switch to see how Joseph Cowan reacts to being put in a higher and more advanced squad.
