Manchester United seem to finally be getting back to their old ways of having stability between the posts, with Senne Lammens already finding his feet in goal at Old Trafford.
Over the years, The Red Devils have had the likes of Peter Schemeichel, Edwin van der Sar and David De Gea to keep the defence solid.
However, two rocky seasons with Andre Onana and his inconsistent and problematic performances saw the United back line look shakey.
Now, Lammens appears to be restoring faith, but that isn’t stopping United looking to sign further goalkeeping talent.
New reports form Wales have revealed that Manchester United goalkeeping scout Tony Coton was in attendance of Connah’s Quay Nomad’s clash with The New Saints in the Cymru Premier.
Coton was understood to be there scouting Connah’s Quay keeper Kit Margetson, currently on loan from Swansea City.
The attendance of the scout was confirmed when the live commentary of Malcolm Allen, who played with Coton at Watford, confirmed the scout’s intentions.
Speaking on Scorio’s coverage of the game, the former Wales international commented: “I’m going to tell you the truth, he told me he’s watching Kit [Margetson].”
He continued: “It’s great to see the Cymru Premier pulling in scouts from the biggest clubs in the world.
“He’s competent in what he’s doing. He’s growing up, and every time I see him play, he’s growing up in front of me.”
However, it’s no surprise that the 19-year-old goalkeeper is turning heads, with shot-stopping very much in his blood.
The Swansea City keeper is the son of Wales’ national team goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson.
During his current loan spell, the talented teenager has kept 10 clean sheets in 30 games, drawing the attention of Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool.
As such, United look to have a battle on their hands to sign the youngster, however Coton’s attendance, who was the man behind Lammens’ signing, shows real potential for an Old Trafford move.
