Former Juventus and Italy player Marco Tardelli praised Italy after their 5-0 win against Estonia last night, describing the performance as “solid.”

Speaking on Dribbling, with quotes via LLSN , Tardelli also has kind words to say for new Azzurri head coach Gennaro Gattuso, who led the team for the first time in the win over Estonia.

“Gattuso wants to win, he doesn’t just try to play,” Tardelli said, “He’s solid and determined, and he showed it. The players worked hard and we saw something extra.”

Italy cruise in victory over Estonia

It was a happy evening for all involved with the Azzurri set-up in their 5-0 World Cup qualifier win against Estonia.

Despite the first half looking unconvincing, with the score 0-0 at half-time, Gattuso’s side made light work of their opposition in the second forty-five minutes.

Moise Kean opened the scoring in the 58th minute before Mateo Retegui doubled the Azzurri’s lead just ten minutes later. Raspadori made it three within minutes of the second and late goals from Retegui and Alessandro Bastoni completed the rout.
