Chelsea received no offers for Raheem Sterling on deadline day despite the winger being for sale all summer according to The Athletic.

Sterling was one of a number of players Chelsea were desperate to move on this summer, but that was easier said than done.

The 30-year-old’s career has been on a downward trajectory since joining the Blues from Manchester City for £50m in 2022.

Chelsea received no offers for Raheem Sterling on deadline day

It became clear pretty quickly Sterling wasn’t going to be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans, and he secured a deadline day loan move to Arsenal last summer.

Sterling’s struggles continued in north London, where he managed just one goal in 28 appearances in all competitions.

The England international returned to Chelsea where he’s training on his own with the now infamous “bomb squad.”

Sterling reportedly had interest from multiple Premier League clubs, whilst the likes of Besiktas and Bayer Leverkusen were also said to be interested.

The Blues were believed to want around £20m, whilst Sterling’s preference was reportedly to remain in London if possible.

However, despite interest, The Athletic have reported the Blues didn’t receive a single offer for Sterling on deadline day.

Windows in Saudi Arabia and Turkey remain open, but it’s thought Sterling has no interest in moving to either of those leagues.

Axel Disasi remains at Chelsea

Sterling wasn’t the only player who Chelsea were unable to move on before the close of the window, with Axel Disasi also falling into that category.

Disasi had interest from a number of clubs in England, but reportedly opted against joining any of the interested clubs.

Saudi side Neom are believed to be contemplating a fresh approach for the Frenchman, whilst it’s unclear if there’s any interest from Turkey.

Chelsea will be hoping they can find a solution because Disasi playing no football until January isn’t good for all parties.
