Enzo Fernandez continues to flirt with Real Madrid, and now the press in Spain are starting to entertain the idea of him going there.

It’s all happening pretty fast for Enzo Fernandez and Real Madrid. The midfielder opened the door to leaving Chelsea after the PSG game a couple of weeks ago, and since then the rumours about Madrid interest have been pretty constant.

Mundo Deportivo had a whole section today dedicated to the idea that the Chelsea vice captain could move this summer.

“Personality and ego” could be a problem in Real Madrid move

“He is a player with character, the kind who quickly connects with the fans and is a natural leader,” they wrote.

“It would be like having a second Fede Valverde on the field. The only problem is that he is a player with a strong personality and ego, and in a dressing room like Real Madrid’s, there are already several players with that profile.”

So they’re already discussing how well he would fit in, with his positives being weighed up against Man City’s Rodri, who looks like the other option.

Enzo clearly wants out and by the sounds of things Real would like to sign him. But the £100m Chelsea paid for him will make it very difficult for a deal to get done this summer. Despite this chatter, we’ll need to see a lot more solid evidence that they’re willing to pay up before we believe it.

Enzo’s flirtation reached ridiculous new levels on international duty this week, where he talked about how much he’d like to live in Madrid.
