Some Chelsea fans shouted abuse at Enzo Maresca as they left Stamford Bridge after losing to Brighton according to reports.
The Blues slumped to a 3-1 defeat against the Seagulls despite being in control of the game in the first half, and it’s now back to back league defeats.
Chelsea have made a poor start to the season, and have taken just eight points from a possible 18, and it feels the pressure is now starting to build.
Enzo Fernandez had given Chelsea a half time lead, and the Blues played well as they limited Brighton to virtually nothing in the first half.
However, for the second week running the game changed after a red card, this time Trevoh Chalobah sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
Maresca once again when faced with adversity made defensive substitutions which backfired as Danny Welbeck scored the equaliser.
It appeared Chelsea would hold on for a draw, but more defensive errors saw two goals conceded in injury time, as fans flooded for the exit.
Maresca explained his substitutions after the game, which is unlikely to make supporters feel any better, but according to The Telegraph there were some unsavoury scenes towards the end of the game.
They report some fans who left early shouted abuse at Maresca as they made their way out of the ground, whilst there were also boos at full time.
It feels like Chelsea are in somewhat of a mini crisis which needs to be stopped as quickly as possible before things turn really sour.
The Blues face a huge week before the international break with games against Benfica in the Champions League and Liverpool.
Chelsea desperately need positive results in both fixtures, and Maresca needs to find a way to get a win on the board as quickly as possible, to at least give the Blues some positive momentum heading into the international break.
