Theo Hernandez forces Milan to make big changes with Roma

Theo Hernandez’s injury is worse than previously thought, so with Kyle Walker and Samuel Chukwueze also out, Milan have very limited options against Roma.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET).

Sergio Conceicao is already trying to pick the squad back up after their Coppa Italia Final defeat to Bologna on Wednesday evening in this same stadium.

Milan struggle with injuries

He might have difficulty, because Theo Hernandez sustained a heavy bruise to the thigh and it is so bad that Sky Sport Italia report he is not even in the squad against Roma.

It is an extra problem to deal with because Walker is also missing after coming down with flu symptoms, while Chukwueze has a groin inflammation.

Warren Bondo had already skipped the Final with an ankle issue, so the Rossoneri are short on wide options.

According to Calciomercato.com , we could therefore see Alex Jimenez switch over to the left wing-back role, bringing in Yunus Musah or Filippo Terracciano on the right.

It also remains to be seen who between Santiago Gimenez and Luka Jovic will lead the attack, supported by Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic.

Sitting eighth in Serie A, they need two victories in their remaining two matches to snatch Conference League qualification, or risk missing out on Europe altogether.
