Everton are likely to bring in a new left-back during the summer window.
Vitalii Mykolenko is one of six players at the club whose deals run out next season, so Moyes and his staff have started pulling together a list of potential signings.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has come up as an option after the teenager dropped out of Mikel Arteta’s plans. Since January 8th, he hasn’t featured in a Premier League game.
“His mindset is perfect. He’s not just physically good but mentally very good. Very open, very humble and wants to improve,” Tuchel said back in March 2024.
The 19-year-old still has four years left on his deal at the Emirates and with just 16 appearances this campaign, there’s growing talk that he could be on the move before next season kicks off.
Back in March 2025, Thomas Tuchel had plenty of good things to say about Lewis-Skelly, describing him as a standout personality.
“He is such an open character,” said the England manager. “He was amazing in camp. Full of confidence, full of humour.
“You see everything on the pitch, off the pitch. He does it with a natural confidence. That’s how he plays football. Full of courage and quality. He was decisive and opened this game for us.”
Tuchel also spoke about Lewis-Skelly’s versatility, pointing out that he can slot into midfield roles as well, which would add valuable depth for Everton.
“The second half, he played as an eight, we wanted to take more risks,” Tuchel added.
“He played as a No 8 or 10. I think his best position is where he plays for Arsenal in the left double six, inverted role.”
Given Tuchel’s experience working with top talent at clubs like PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, that kind of praise carries weight.
