Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that Italy international Destiny Udogie has recovered from his recent knee injury and that he will be part of the Spurs squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash against AFC Bournemouth.

Frank confirms Udogie recovery after knee injury

Udogie has missed the first two Premier League matches of the 2025-26 with a knee injury that he suffered during pre-season, an injury that has kept him out of action for close to six weeks.

That issue now appears to be behind him, which means that he should also be available for selection by Gennaro Gattuso for Italy national team squad for the upcoming international break.

“He’ll be in the squad, so that’s very positive for us,” Frank said during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Udogie may have to bide his time with opportunities for Tottenham, however, given the recent form of Djed Spence, who has received praise for his performances while covering at left-back in the Italian’s absence.

Spence has also received his first call-up to the England national team squad on Friday.
