Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.
According to journalist Dean Jones, they could look to make a move for the 25-year-old Premier League attacker as a replacement for Son Heung-min, who could be on the move this summer.
Jones told Transfers From Paradise: “At the moment, the club are pressing ahead with negotiations on a fee to take Mathys Tel on a permanent deal, but I am also starting to hear whispers that Antoine Semenyo is one of the players they could look to sign.”
Semenyo has done quite well for the Cherries, and there is no doubt that he has the qualities to play for a bigger club. He could be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. They need more cutting edge in the final third, and the 25-year-old is capable of operating anywhere across the front three.
He will add goals and creativity to the side. The player has 13 goals to his name this past season, and he also picked up seven assists along the way.
He is entering the peaks of his career, and he will want to compete at a high level. Tottenham could provide him with the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season and fight for trophies as well. It would be an exciting opportunity for the player.
However, he is a key player for Bournemouth, and they will not want to lose him easily. They could demand a premium for the attacker if Tottenham comes calling. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can negotiate a reasonable deal to secure the player’s services.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is highly rated by his teammates, and they believe that he has “all the ability in the world”. Regular football in the Champions League with Tottenham could help him improve further and fulfil his potential. Playing alongside top-class players at the North London club could accelerate his development.
