Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin is a target for Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.
According to a report via Sportwitness, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has impressed with the Portuguese club, and Tottenham are looking to secure his signature.
He will cost £84 million because of a release clause in his contract. Even though his performances have been outstanding, it is highly unlikely that any club will pay that kind of money for a goalkeeper.
Benfica will have to lower their demands in order for the move to go through. Trubin has kept 13 clean sheets this season.
The 24-year-old could be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League next season. It would be a step up for him, and regular football in England could bring out the best in the player.
Gugilelmo Vicario has been linked with a move away from the club, and Spurs will need to replace him properly. The Italian goalkeeper can be inconsistent, and Tottenham need someone who can help them improve. The 24-year-old Benfica goalkeeper certainly has the quality to succeed in the Premier League, and he could be a long-term asset for the club. If Tottenham can sign him for a reasonable fee, he could prove to be an interesting addition for them.
Tottenham have finished 17th in the Premier League this season, and they need quality players to perform at a high level. They will look to return to the UEFA Champions League, and adding a reliable goalkeeper should be one of their priorities.
It will be interesting to see if the English club can convince Benfica to accept a reasonable fee for their star goalkeeper this summer.
