Tottenham could trigger ‘huge’ release clause for manager who would be a ‘really good fit’

Tottenham Hotspur could look to replace Ange Postecoglou as their manager at the end of the season, and they have been linked with Thomas Frank from Brentford.

The Danish manager has done quite well in the Premier League with Brentford, and it is no surprise that Tottenham are keen on him. According to Football Insider, they could look to trigger his release clause in the summer. They believe Frank would be a “really good fit” for the club.

Brentford are currently 11th in the league table, and Frank has done an impressive job with them with limited resources. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to get the deal done.

Postecoglou has been backed significantly in the transfer market this season, but he has failed to deliver. Tottenham are 15th in the league table, and they have failed to impress in the domestic competitions either.

The report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham plan to trigger Frank’s release clause and hold talks with him regarding a potential move.

The 51-year-old could be attracted to the idea of managing Tottenham. It would be an exciting step in his career, and he would get to fight for trophies with the North London outfit. The Danish manager could look to take the next step in his career.

Meanwhile, the report adds that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Marco Silva, and both managers have a “huge” buyout clause. However, Spurs believe that the Brentford manager would be a better fit for them. It will be interesting to see who they end up with eventually.

Silva has done an impressive job at Fulham as well, and he could be an interesting acquisition for Tottenham. As for Postecoglou, he is likely to be shown the door, even if he wins the UEFA Europa League.
