Tottenham enquire about €15m midfielder alongside PL rivals
IPA

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new midfielder in the ongoing winter transfer window, and the Lilywhites have been keen on signing RC Lens’ Andy Diouf, and the Premier League heavyweights will be competing against Crystal Palace for his signature.

The North Londoners have been keen to bring in players that add depth and dynamism in the middle of the park, with Ange Postecoglou being light in the position given the Lilywhites lack of replacements to the departures of Giovanni Lo Celso and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg in the previous summer window.

Spurs can financially out-muscle Palace for Andy Diouf

Daniel Levy has already made his first signing of the season in Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague as he aids the injury struggles in the goalkeeping department with an influx from the market. And it looks like the club chairman is set to do the same in the midfield.

Chief Correspondent at TBR Football, Graeme Bailey now insists that English top-tier duo Crystal Palace and Tottenham have enquired about Andy Diouf.

While the report states how the French side is eager to keep hold of the midfielder, however, their need for money might force them to consider selling the 21-year-old, who just moved to Lens in a €15m (£12.4m) transfer from Swiss side FC Basel in July 2023.

Tottenham has been looking for a new midfielder in the ongoing window, and if it were to come down to financially outmuscling the Eagles, it wouldn’t be a difficult task for Levy & Co.; however, at the moment the club needs to push Lens into selling.
