Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a summer move for Antoine Semenyo

Tottenham ended their disappointing season on a high, winning the Europa league; now they have the opportunity to build on that successful end. The club is looking beyond the cup win into the summer transfer window. A roster shake up is due to take place between new signings and players moving on. This is going to be a crucial window for the Lilywhites if they are to achieve greater heights in the upcoming season.

Tottenham are already pursuing new bodies in attack, and with still unclear situations over Ange Postecoglou’s future, there is the potential for things to change. Nonetheless, the club are working privately, and are now also linked with a forward from a Premier League rival.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on a Premier League forward who outscored Son Heung-min last season.

Now back in the Champions League, Spurs are in a strong position to attract some of the league’s top talent. According to Dean Jones, the North London club are considering a move for Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo this summer.

In the meantime, Tottenham are also working on finalising a permanent deal for Mathys Tel and remain in negotiations with Bayern Munich.

However, their transfer activity up front is unlikely to end there, with Semenyo emerging as a serious target for the club as they continue to strengthen their attacking options.

Tottenham looks keen on signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth

Antoine Semenyo, 25, has just finished a terrific season at Bournemouth, scoring 11 goals in the Premier League, one more than Son Heung-min. With experience now across both the Championship and the Premier League, Semenyo is working his way up to being more established in the League’s group of best Wingers with 81 appearances in the top flight.

Dean Jones speaking on Transfers From Paradise reported that Son has been linked to the Saudi Pro League for some time now, so it is possible that he may actually leave. He provides a wealth of experience for Spurs’ squad, which is especially important for their Champions League adventure. Tottenham are now in the final stages of negotiations with Bayern Munich to finalise a possible permanent deal for Mathys Tel, but they are starting to identify Semenyo as a more viable option.

As TBR Football have reported, Bournemouth would have wanted to retain Semenyo and have him valued at around £70 million, therefore Spurs would not only have to break their transfer record but will also have to dismantle their existing squad structure to accommodate Semenyo.

Antoine Semenyo joining Tottenham would certainly offer an interesting twist to the story based on his past as an openly Arsenal fan. The Ghana international even had trials with the Gunners in his younger years, but he did not make it then. If he were to now join White Hart Lane, it would be impactful and symbolic step for Spurs – to sign an impressive young forward with connections to their biggest rivals is sure to turn some heads leading into the new season.
