The Whites have identified him as a key piece in their attack, trying to bring him to Elland Road in January to strengthen their chances of staying in the top flight.

Sevilla are monitoring the developments surrounding their star winger closely. The Andalusian side do not consider him untouchable and could be open to accepting offers in January, provided they fulfil the monetary demands. The report adds that Leeds United are set to face competition from Spurs and Aston Villa for the signing of Vargas, who is ready to take the next big step in his career.

Should Tottenham go all out for Vargas?

Leeds feel Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha aren’t sufficient up front to fire them to safety. They need another body in the striker department, and Vargas is the player the Yorkshire giants are planning to bring in.
