Tottenham are clearly looking to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer as the club aims to bolster the quality of the squad next season. With Thomas Frank at the helm, Daniel Levy must make sure that the right players are brought in that would instantly fit in at N17 and thrive in different formations and shapes.

It was reported earlier that Spurs are looking to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig in the summer. The Netherlands international has made it clear that he wants to leave for pastures new, as the Bundesliga giants will not participate in European competitions next season. The aforementioned report also states that the 22-year-old is open to move to N17 if the Lilywhites can strike a deal with Leipzig for his services.

However, there is a new twist in the transfer saga involving Simons. As per Fichajes, Newcastle United are also interested in signing the ex-PSG star as the Magpies look to bolster their attack for next season. The Premier League outfit is also planning to put up an offer worth £70m for the Dutchman, as they aim to fend off competition from Spurs for his signature.

Now, Daniel Levy must act quick if he wants to bring the 22-year-old to Hotspur Way for next season. Signing Xavi Simons would instantly elevate the quality of the squad, and his versatility to play in different positions would benefit Thomas Frank as well. The RB Leipzig star can either play as a left-winger, or a number ten in different setups.

Fans will hope that the Lilywhites share the same intention as urgency as the Magpies in the race for Xavi Simons’ signature.
