Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze in recent months.
The 26-year-old has been outstanding for the Eagles, and he has 13 goals to his name this season. He has picked up 11 assists along the way as well. The England International has helped Crystal Palace win the FA Cup this season. He scored the winning goal of the game against Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup yesterday.
The player is expected to be on the move this summer, and he will be hoping to join a bigger club capable of fighting for trophies.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that they have no chance of signing the player unless they secure Champions League qualification. Apart from the fact that the player will want to join an ambitious club competing in Europe, Tottenham will need the revenue from Champions League qualification to get the deal done as well.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
“On the Eze question, there’s absolutely no chance“, Robinson told Football Insider.
“Absolutely no chance whatsoever of them even [being] in the conversation for a player like Eze without Champions League football, without a Champions League budget.
“If Tottenham don’t win that Europa League, they’re back to square one without a manager again, and [signing] Eze is not even in the conversation.”
The 26-year-old is capable of operating as a left-winger as well as a central attacking midfielder. He could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Tottenham. He will add goals, creativity, and unpredictability to the side.
Tottenham need quality players like him if they want to bounce back strongly and fight for trophies next season. They must do everything in their power to beat Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Europa League next week and sign quality players.
