Lucas Bergvall could play a key role for Tottenham in luring FC Copenhagen talent Roony Bardghji to North London

Tottenham Hotspur are in dire need of reinforcements on the back of a dreadful season in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites have performed way below expectations, and with no domestic cups to compete for and nothing left to play for in the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou’s focus fully remains on winning the Europa League. The Australian is expected to be sacked at the end of the season, regardless of whether he wins the Europa League, so he may well want to sign off with a piece of silverware and live up to his words of winning a trophy in his second year at a club.

In terms of recruitment, the club bosses will have a lot of work to do. The wing is one area that needs addressing in the summer, with Son Heung-min and Timo Werner struggling, and Brennan Johnson—despite his increase in productivity this season—continues to have the habit of going missing in games.

Tottenham have been linked with several wide players in recent weeks and months. One of them is FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji, and Lucas Bergvall could aid the North London outfit in the player’s pursuit.

Viewed as one of Europe’s most exciting talents for a while now, Roony Bardghji moved from Malmö to FC Copenhagen in 2020 and is destined to move to a bigger club sooner rather than later. Having been interested in the teenage sensation for over a year and scouted him several times, Spurs could make a move for him this summer.

According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Roony Bardghji is aware that Tottenham want to sign him, and the Lilywhites are ‘increasingly confident that the prospect of pairing up with Bergvall’, will be tempting for him. The FC Copenhagen man and Bergvall are international teammates, and that could play in favour of Tottenham, giving them an edge over Manchester City and other Premier League clubs in the race for his signature.

Bardghji was out of action for a very long time due to an ACL injury, and as a result, he has been limited to only five league appearances this season. It could take him time to get used to speed, but that would not deter Spurs from making a move for him, especially as the Kuwait City-born talent’s contract expires at the end of 2025 (Transfermarkt).

The aforementioned report adds that this makes Bardghji an increasingly attractive option for Daniel Levy and Tottenham, as he is on course to be available for less than £10million. And as he is not keen to extend his contract with the Danish side, a summer move looks inevitable.

Tottenham have to be frugal and smart with their recruitment later this year, with the chances of having a new manager in the dugout extremely high. They have a promising core of young talent and will want to enhance it further with the cost-effective acquisition of Bardghji, who would be a good option to compete with the likes of Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel (if his loan is turned permanent) next season.
