Tottenham in the running for playmaker who could cost over £120 million

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing the services of Shakhtar Donetsk sensation Giorgi Sudakov.

Sudakov has made quite a name for himself thanks to his impressive performances for Shakhtar Donetsk. There is no shortage of interest in the Ukrainian attacking midfielder and Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having him in their squad.

The North London club are looking at ways to further bolster their squad and the 21-year-old sensation could be an exciting addition for them. But, signing him won’t be easy as he has a massive release clause. However, John Wenham believes Spurs have asked to be kept informed about his situation at Shakhtar.

While speaking to Tottenham News about Sudakov, Wenham said: “We’re talking about big money here, £120million-plus,”

“Shakhtar Donetsk have done well in the transfer market in recent years, attracting a big fee for Mudryk, who I was hugely impressed with before he arrived at Chelsea.

“He had done much more on the European stage than Sudakov has, but yet he hasn’t been able to replicate that form in the Premier League.

“Therefore, I think there’ll be a bit of scepticism about handing huge sums of money over for a player like that, although Tottenham inviting the agent over demonstrates that they are keen to at least be kept in the loop.”

The Ukrainian international’s new deal with Shakhtar runs until the end of 2028. While there is a release clause in his contract, it is worth £127.7 million which makes a deal quite difficult for Spurs.

Daniel Levy will be reluctant to fork out such a massive fee for the 21-year-old attacking sensation. While Sudakov has huge potential, Mykhailo Mudryk’s big-money move from Shakhtar to Chelsea hasn’t really gone according to plan. As a result, Tottenham will be a bit sceptical.

Spurs recently invited Sudakov’s agent Vadym Shablii to discuss the club’s interest in his client and they have shown eagerness to be kept in the loop about any potential movement from the player’s end.
