Tottenham have still not managed to completely replace Harry Kane ever since the club legend departed for pastures new in 2023. The Lilywhites have not allocated the funds properly in recent transfer windows and the lack of firepower last season was clear for all the see. The North London club struggled to get going in domestic competitions and faced severe backlash for their disastrous performances in the Premier League.
However, Spurs managed to end the season on a high after lifting the Europa League trophy last month. Winning the competition also ensured Champions League football for next season as the Lilywhites look to kickstart a new era at N17. There is a clear need to bring in new attackers in the summer after a disappointing attacking display by Ange’s men throughout the season.
Last summer’s statement signing Dominic Solanke endured a tough start at N17 and struggled to get going in the initial months. But it is fair to say that the England international has found his goal-scoring mojo again and has proved to be a crucial part of the setup. The same cannot be said about other attackers in the squad.
There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to add a new striker to their ranks for next season. With Richarlison failing to impress Big Ange and potentially heading for the exit doors in the summer, Daniel Levy is aiming to bring in a new striker that could compete with Solanke next season and provide a different dynamic to the Spurs attack.
As per GIVEMESPORT, Spurs are interested in signing Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham in the coming weeks. The Lilywhites want a striker with Premier League experience and believe that Muniz fits that criterion perfectly. The talented striker is also keen to move away from Craven Cottage if Marco Silva leaves Fulham in the summer.
The aforementioned report also suggests that Fulham value Muniz at around £50m and would be open to negotiate a deal if the valuation can be met. The 24-year-old’s wage demands will not be a problem for the Lilywhites and Daniel Levy believes that the Brazilian will provide perfect cover for Dominic Solanke as Spurs prepare for Champions League football next season.
Tottenham need to bring in cover for each position as Ange’s men face the prospect of playing more than 60 games next season. If the Lilywhites do end up signing Rodrigo Muniz in the summer, then it would jeopardise Dominic Solanke’s place in the starting eleven. However, it is important to note that the Fulham striker would be a step up from Richarlison.
As per Sofascore, Muniz ended the campaign with 11 goals and two assists in 49 games in all competitions. He still has a lot of learning to do and signing the Brazilian would certainly elevate the ceiling of the Spurs attack. He would fit in perfectly at N17 as well and provide a different dynamic to the attack. Muniz’s efficiency in front of goal and his movement in the box would be something Ange Postecoglou would like to have in his ranks for next season.
