Liverpool playmaker Harvey Elliott has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has struggled for regular gametime at Liverpool, and he needs to move on in search of first-team action. According to Graeme Bailey on TBR football, Tottenham have enquired about the player, and it will be interesting to see if they follow it up with an official offer to sign the player.
They could use more creativity and cutting edge in the final third, and Elliott would be a solid long-term acquisition. He is capable of operating in the wide areas as well as in the number ten role. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net as well.
The young playmaker has been outstanding for England in the Under-21 Euros this summer. He has played a key role in helping them win the tournament. England managed to beat Germany in the final last night, and Elliott has scored five goals in the tournament, including an important strike in the final.
There is no doubt that he is a prodigious young talent with a bright future, and Tottenham would do well to secure his signature. The player has been labelled as a “real asset” by Tony Cascarino recently.
If Tottenham can secure an agreement with Liverpool over a reasonable deal, the move could prove to be a masterstroke for them in future. The opportunity to join Spurs could be exciting for the player as well. He will want to play more often at this stage of his career, and Tottenham are a big club. They will be able to offer him UEFA Champions League football as well.
He has been a valuable squad member for Liverpool, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to start for top clubs.
