Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma played a huge role in helping the club get over the line and win the Europa League this season. The Mali international did not enjoy the best of starts to the campaign after falling down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou. But credit where its due, the 28-year-old did not give up and waited patiently for his chance to prove the critics wrong.
After enjoying a successful stint at Brighton and Hove Albion, the midfielder attracted a lot of interest from top clubs. But the Malian chose to join Spurs and showcase his talents in North London. He enjoyed a good spell during the initial months of Ange Postecoglou’s tenure at N17. But the Spurs midfielder’s performances started deteriorating and he lost his place in the starting eleven.
Even this season, the 28-year-old failed to perform well consistently and failed to get regular gametime. But he took his chances after Lucas Bergvall got injured during the latter stages of the campaign. It is fair to say that Bissouma played a key role in the heart of the midfield to secure Tottenham’s first silverware in 17 years.
Tottenham need to generate funds in the summer to bring in new players for next season. The Lilywhites are expected to cash in on underperforming players as they look to kickstart a new era at N17. One of the players that is linked with a move away from the club is Yves Bissouma. The Mali international’s contract runs out next year and Spurs are looking to cash in on him right now instead of letting him leave for free in 2026.
It was reported earlier that Aston Villa were interested in Bissouma’s services for next season. Well, there is a new twist in the transfer saga as more Premier League clubs are interested in the midfielder’s services. The 28-year-old is not short of suitors and it looks like he will have a bunch of clubs to choose from for a move in the summer.
Everton are looking to add firepower in the midfield as they start a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Toffees are all set to lose their main midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in the summer and are willing to bring in Yves Bissouma as his replacement for next season. Spurs are willing to sanction a move in the coming weeks if they get the desired money for the 28-year-old.
However, the Merseyside club are not the only ones aiming to land the Spurs No.8. As per GIVEMESPORT, Leeds United are also interested in Bissouma’s services and want to bring him to Elland Road after achieving Premier League promotion. The Yorkshire based club is looking to strengthen their squad for next season as they aim to survive the drop.
