Tottenham monitoring £25m Man United target, weekend result could play big role in transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham at the end of the season.

The midfielder is likely to be available for a fee of around £25 million, and a report from Football Insider claims that Manchester United are monitoring his situation as well. The 19-year-old is highly rated across the country, and he is expected to develop into a top-class player in future. It is no surprise that top clubs are keen on him. 

Tottenham could use Jobe Bellingham

Tottenham need more than quality in the middle of the park, and the 19-year-old would be a long-term acquisition for them. He will add creativity, drive and physicality in the middle of the park. The report from Football Insider claims that Borussia Dortmund are keen on the player as well, but their pursuit largely depends on them securing Champions League qualification for the next season. 

The German outfit are currently fifth in the league table and they will need to win the final league game to secure a place in the top four. However, they would need fourth-placed SC Freiburg to drop points as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The Bundesliga side are unlikely to be able to afford Bellingham without Champions League qualification. 

If they miss out on a top-four finish, it would be a huge boost for Tottenham.
