Tottenham Hotspur are hoping this Pochettino is also magic.
On Friday, Sky Sports and other outlets confirmed the Spurs offered a new contract to 19-year-old midfielder Maurizio Pochettino, the son of former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Maurizio remained in Tottenham's academy after the club parted ways with his father in November following a poor run of form in the Premier League. The teenager, who first signed with the team in 2017, has not yet featured for Tottenham's senior side.
Mauricio Pochettino became one of the most beloved Tottenham figures in recent memory during the second half of the 2010s when he helped develop stars such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min. The Argentinian coach guided the Spurs to the 2019 Champions League Final, which Tottenham dropped to new Premier League winners Liverpool.
Pochettino remained a favorite among supporters even as Tottenham dropped down the table during the first months of the 2019-20 domestic campaign, but the club dismissed him in November while sitting at 14th in the EPL.
Jose Mourinho replaced Pochettino and brought the Spurs back to seventh heading into the final weekend of June.
