Tottenham Hotspur are now hoping to step up their pursuit of the West Ham United attacker, Mohammed Kudus.

According to a report from TBR Football, Tottenham held talks about signing him last week, and they are now preparing an offer for the player. The 24-year-old has a release of around £80 million. However, West Ham are prepared to accept a deal in the region of £60 million for the Ghanaian International.

Tottenham need attacking depth

Tottenham could certainly use someone like him in the attack, and the 24-year-old would be a useful acquisition. He is capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles. He can operate centrally as well as on the flanks.

Kudus will help create goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates, and he will look to find the back of the net as well. He has been described as a “top, top talent”.

Arsenal remain keen on Mohammed Kudus

Meanwhile, Tottenham will face competition from Arsenal, who are also keen on securing his services. Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United have been keeping tabs on the player since the start of the window. It remains to be seen whether they decide to step up their pursuit of the player.

Meanwhile, the West Ham attacker will want to take the next step in his career and join a big club. The move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. He would be able to compete in the UEFA Champions League with them and fight for trophies next season. Kudus recently changed agents in order to facilitate a summer move.

The Ghanaian International had an excellent debut season with West Ham, but he was quite mediocre last year (five goals and four assists). It remains to be seen whether he can bounce back strongly and get back to his best once again. Thomas Frank could unlock his true potential. Tottenham have quality attacking players at their disposal, and playing alongside them might bring out the best in the African attacker.
