Tottenham Hotspur suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Tottenham walked away from the City Ground on Sunday night with a bruising 3–0 defeat that felt worse than the scoreline, as the display knocked their confidence and brought momentum to a halt at a damaging stage of the season.

Early on, Nottingham Forest pressed with intent, while Spurs played at a slower pace and struggled for effectiveness, and that contrast soon set the tone. As the half wore on, a loose pass from Guglielmo Vicario into Archie Gray caused immediate trouble, Ibrahim Sangaré jumped on the error, and Callum Hudson-Odoi tapped in to give the hosts control around the half-hour mark.

From there, Tottenham enjoyed spells on the ball but could not turn that possession into real danger, which left the attack flat and easy to read before the break. After the restart, any hope of a response disappeared quickly.

Hudson-Odoi struck again from the left, sending his effort over Vicario in the 50th minute, and Forest smelled an opening. Spurs then lost their grip on the game, while Forest played with confidence and patience, before a third goal in the 79th minute put the result beyond doubt.

This defeat ended a short winning run and hurt Spurs’ league position, leaving them 11th and well off the European pace. More significantly, the display raised fresh concerns about direction, as a side that recently showed signs of progress slipped back into familiar patterns, leaving Thomas Frank facing growing scrutiny and a tense mood around the club.

Tottenham player ratings vs. Nottingham Forest:

Guglielmo Vicario 4/10: The goalkeeper made a few classy saves, albeit with shaky moments, yet he failed to convince, and watching the second goal float over his head captured how the night unravelled for him.

Pedro Porro 2/10: The Spaniard struggled badly at the back, lost his position far too often, and gave Forest far too much space on his side, while frustration spilt into a needless booking.

Cristian Romero 5/10: He stepped out to defend with intent and carried the ball well; however, he could not keep the back line organised as the game slipped away.

Micky van de Ven 4/10: He misjudged passes and looked rattled, which felt unusual for a defender who normally brings calm.

Djed Spence 4/10: Spence battled through injury, stayed exposed defensively, and showed his anger when he left the pitch.

Rodrigo Bentancur 4/10: The Uruguayan lacked composure, sprayed passes, even simple ones, and exited early without complaint.

Archie Gray 3/10: He made a costly error for the opener, then chased the game rashly. A tough night for the youngster who looked like he was getting into his groove in recent weeks.

Mohammed Kudus 3/10: Having impressed with his goal contributions in recent weeks, a lot was expected from Kudus. However, he just forced plays, ignored options, and wasted crosses.

Xavi Simons 5/10: Night to forget for the young Dutchman, who had just begun featuring regularly in Thomas Frank’s starting XI. He found space, worked hard, yet hesitated at key moments.

Randal Kolo Muani 6/10: He kept making runs and tried to drag Spurs forward on his own. But it was his end product that let him down.

Richarlison 3/10: He struggled to hold the ball and spent more time complaining than affecting the game. A performance the Brazilian would soon like to forget.

Substitutes

Ben Davies 5/10: Davies played only briefly.

Lucas Bergvall 4/10: He brought energy without control when brought on. Struggled to dictate things.

Joao Palhinha 4/10: He offered little shield, and couldn’t do much to alter the game.

Brennan Johnson 4/10: Only spent a few minutes on the pitch, after coming on for Kudus.

Mathys Tel 4/10: He lost possession too easily and was only on for 10 minutes.
