Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee at the end of the season.

According to TBR football, the 22-year-old is open to leaving the Premier League side this summer in search of regular game time. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince him to join the club.

Tottenham could use James McAtee

He is versatile enough to operate as the central attacking midfielder as well as a right-sided winger. He will add goals and creativity to the side. The 22-year-old is highly rated across England, and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola rates the player highly. The Spanish manager has previously claimed that McAtee has “an incredible sense in front of goal”.

Tottenham could certainly use a player with his skill set. He will be able to slot into multiple attacking roles, and he will help them going forward. They need more cutting edge in the final third, and they might be able to offer McAtee ample game time as well. They have been linked with a similar player in Jacob Ramsey as well.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham come forward with an offer to sign him. Nottingham Forest are keen on signing the player as well. They are currently pushing for European qualification, and they will certainly fancy their chances of beating Tottenham to his signature.

Can Spurs convince him to join?

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they are 16th in the league table. However, they are in the final of the UEFA Europa League, and if they win the competition, they will secure Champions League qualification for the next season. It would make them an attractive destination for players, and the 22-year-old could be tempted to join them.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can finish the season strongly and attract quality players this summer.
